Zion Williamson Returns To NBA Bubble, Status Uncertain For Team Restart

The NBA says New Orleans Pelicans rookie star Zion Williamson will need to complete several days of tests before being cleared to play.

Williamson left the NBA bubble on July 16 to attend to a family emergency and was tested for COVID-19 every day during that time with negative results and returned to Orlando over the weekend.

The NBA says Williamson must have four straight days of negative tests inside the bubble to be able to return to the court for team activities.

Even if cleared by testing, Williamson is not allowed to work out or exercise while in isolation, which could make him unavailable for the Pelicans on Thursday when they play the Utah Jazz.
