Students in Livingston Parish are now able to learn virtually due to COVID-19 concerns but it comes with a catch.
Officials say students who choose to learn completely virtually cannot participate in athletics.
Administrators argued that if a student is not comfortable coming back to school, then they should be even more uncomfortable playing organized sports again.
A spokesperson with the East Baton Rouge Parish School System says practices for fall sports are already happening and that the school district will follow all the guidelines from the Louisiana High School Athletic Association.
