Woman Charged With Assault After Mask Dispute At Burbank Drive Walmart

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office says a woman is facing battery charges for punching a man who confronted her for not wearing a mask.

Officials say the incident happened at the Walmart on Burbank Drive on Tuesday evening as the man and woman were leaving the store.

The man chastised the woman for not wearing a mask, and she responded by punching him in the face and causing minor injuries.

Walmart instituted a national storewide mask mandate on Monday in addition to a statewide mandate in place now across Louisiana.
