Louisiana Representative C. Denise Marcelle is running for East Baton Rouge Mayor-President.
On Tuesday, Marcelle made the announcement that she will challenge incumbent Sharon Weston Broome for the office seat.
Marcelle is the latest of several candidates to announce their intention to run for the office, including Metro Council members Tara Wicker and Matt Watson, former Councilman Byron Sharper and businessman Jordan Piazza.
The election is scheduled for November 3.
