Baton Rouge is following suit of other cities and making face masks mandatory.
Earlier this week, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome made the announcement after the state saw the largest single-day COVID-19 case increase in the past three months.
Broome said the mandate will continue until there is a positive change in the growth of coronavirus cases.
People caught not following the new order could face misdemeanor summons.
