The LSU Board of Supervisors is approving the removal of Troy H. Middleton's name from the school library.
Before the board meeting, the Naming Committee unanimously approved the decision based on Middleton's efforts to deny American citizens from enjoying equal rights.
The approval of the name change comes a week after the university announced a meeting with black student leaders to make the campus more inclusive.
