Cristobal Moves Closer To Mexico, Could Hit Louisiana By Weekend

Officials say Tropical Storm Cristobal has strengthened as it moves closer to the Mexican coast.

Weakening is forecast as Christobal moves over land, but models agree that it will regain strength as it moves back over Gulf waters and and approaches the northern Gulf Coast this weekend, producing heavy rain, coastal flooding, and gusty winds. It is still unknown exactly where that impact will be felt.

Cristobal is the earliest named storm on record in the Atlantic basin, beating Tropical Storm Colin, which formed on June 5th, 2016.
