BRPD Return To Church Where Suspicious Package Was Detonated

The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating an area church where a suspicious package was detonated on Monday.

Officers returned to Broadmoor United Methodist Church on Tuesday evening to patrol the grounds with flashlights, but authorities did not release details on why they were searching.

The church and an abandoned building next door have been the target of arson seven times since January.

Earlier in the week, the Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a report of a suspicious package at the church and detonated the item as a precaution.
