Hurricane Hunters To Explore Tropical Storm Arthur

A couple of Hurricane Hunters will take a peek into Tropical Storm Arthur.

The specially equipped C-130s will take off from their base at Keesler Air Force Base near Biloxi later today to gather storm data.

Arthur is the first tropical storm of the 2020 season. It formed in the Atlantic Ocean and was officially named on Saturday.

Arthur is forecast to move northward over the ocean and approach the eastern shore of North Carolina by Monday.

It could strengthen from its current sustained winds of 40 miles per hour to 50-or 60-miles an hour by Tuesday before it swings back eastward away from the coast.

Arthur poses no threat to the Gulf Coast.
