Significant damage is being reported across Louisiana, following deadly rain storms in Southern states last night and early this morning.
Two residents died as a result, one in DeSoto Parish and another in Rapides Parish.
Strong winds knocked down trees around the Capitol Region, damaging several homes. Witnesses reported hailstones the size of quarters.
Louisiana State University's Alexandria campus lost power and also sustained damage, but officials say no students were harmed.
At least five other deaths were reported in Texas and Oklahoma.
