East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is asking people to please continue following the stay-at-home order issued by Gov. John Bel Edwards over Easter weekend.

Yesterday, the mayor sent a letter to news outlets asking everyone to please continue to obey the stay-at-home order in order to slow the spread of COVID-19.

"We must double-down in our efforts to slow the spread of the coronavirus in East Baton Rouge Parish, so we do not see a rebound of the virus, thus extending the time for us to get back to our routine lives," Broome said.

She added just because Sunday is a holiday does not mean it's time to relax our guard.

"Stay Calm, Stay at Home, and Stay Strong," Broome concluded.
