The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is inviting the community to join in a creative endeavor to support local healthcare workers.
The council launched the 'Hearts From Home' campaign which will display blue hearts on the windows of homes or businesses to let healthcare workers know they are appreciated as they fight the coronavirus on the frontlines.
“Our local government and the healthcare community has asked us to stay at home to stop the spread of this virus,” says Renee Chatelain, President/CEO of the Arts Council. “They are going to work for us, and we can thank them by sharing our hearts from home.”
To increase visibility, the Arts Council has created the hashtag #HeartsFromHomeBR and invites participants to post photos of their windows on social media using this hashtag.
“It is called the Hearts From Home campaign because we wanted to draw attention to the labor of love that healthcare professionals are demonstrating during these times,” says Britt Dawson, Constituency Officer at the Arts Council. “The color of our logo was inspired by scrubs, which are often found in calming shades of blue.”
