The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Department is mourning the loss of Sergeant Gregory Warren, who passed away on Sunday at age 53.
A 26-year veteran of the department, Warren fell ill from coronavirus-related health complications in March shortly before he was set to return from work after an absence.
Warren worked in the transportation department and served honorably in the United States Marine Corps before joining the EBRSO.
Sheriff Sid Gautreaux released a statement calling Warren a dedicated public servant who will be greatly missed.
