Southern University is providing emergency aid to students who are unable to financially move back home.
The university's Division of Student Affairs, Southern University Foundation, and Southern University Alumni Federation created the initiative after the institution encouraged students living on campus to return home.
Officials say the funding could go towards gas, a flight, or storage. There is currently $7,500 but administrators say that could increase.
