The Diocese of Baton Rouge says it is suspending its lunch program for school students.

In a statement Tuesday, the diocese announced that they would cease the services immediately as keeping the program operating would be untenable.

They cited a lack of equipment, among other factors prompted the stoppage.

Before the diocese suspended the "grab & go" meals, they served more than 6,000 combined breakfasts and lunches in the span of three days.
