Health officials are confirming the first positive West Nile mosquito sample in Baton Rouge.
The sample was collected early this month near Hollywood Street and North Foster Drive.
It is still early in mosquito season and mosquito numbers are not high at the moment.
People are to remain cautious to avoid mosquito bites, according to officials.
