Baton Rouge Zoo Accepting Name Suggestions For Baby Giraffe

Self Introduction

The Baton Rouge Zoo is asking the public for help in naming the first giraffe calf successfully born in the city since 2001.

City officials say residents can suggest any name they like, along with a reason why, over the next two weeks.

The key zookeeper staff will then review and narrow the list down to the top three to present to the public for a final vote.

Organizers say final votes will be cast by making a small donation to giraffe conservation efforts at the zoo.

The public has until January 22nd to nominate a name for the calf at surveymonkey.com/r/BabyGiraffe.
