A brand new elementary school is opening up near Erwinville in West Baton Rouge Parish.
According to officials, Caneview will open its doors today, hosting grades kindergarten through eighth.
School principal Laree Taylor says the institution will also be taking in nearly 500 students from both Chamberlin Elementary and Devall Middle School
The superintendent says all schools in the district will be renovated by the end of 2020, with a new Brusly High School to open by the fall semester.
