Baton Rouge leaders will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sunday to celebrate the completion of the Ward Creek Bridge project.
The ceremony will take place at Ochsner Medical Complex's The Grove at 10 a.m. with a bike ride immediately following at 11 a.m.
Officials say the bridge is a key part of the planned 13-mile Health Loop network of bike and pedestrian trials. A new fitness station and trailhead were also finished near the bridge.
The goal was to provide a safe network of connecting trails and paths throughout the parish.
