Three Baton Rouge neighborhoods will be revitalized thanks to newly acquired federal funding.

Senator John Kennedy says the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development is providing nearly $30 million for East Fairfield, Smiley Heights and Melrose Easy.

The funding comes through the Choice Neighborhoods Implementation grant.

Kennedy said thanks to the grant, the neighborhoods will now have beautiful green spaces instead of vacant buildings.
