City officials will be donating 200 engraved backpacks to local students in honor of the late Sadie Roberts-Joseph.
East Baton Rouge Parish and PASS are behind the donations, which sees her name and bio included with every backpack.
The backpacks will be handed out at the Howell Place gym on August 9th.
Roberts-Joseph's daughter, Angela Machen, said her mother would be "humbled" as she "loved helping the kids in the community."
