Local Officials Struggle To Find Affordable Solution To Flash Flooding

While East Baton Rogue Parish gets repeatedly hit with torrential rains, solutions to flash flooding are expensive and could take years to implement.

Residents are demanding the city-parish immediately address the mismanagement of the municipal drainage system.

On June 6th, the parish got hit with seven inches of rain within a 60 to 90 minute window in the morning.

Hurricane Barry, which hit the area earlier this month, dropped more than 20 inches of rain.
