Baton Rouge Deli Owner Anthony Saia Has Died

The owner of a Baton Rouge staple has died.

Anthony Saia, co-founder of Anthony's Italian Deli, died Sunday at 71.

He opened the deli with his wife in 1978 in the Broadwood Shopping Center.

In 2015, the business moved to Mid City.

Saia was born in Sicily, Italy, and moved to the city in 1971 with his wife, Maria.
