Chances Of Tropical Development In Gulf Now Near Zero, Says NHC

Good news from the National Hurricane Center Thursday - chances for tropical development in the Gulf are now near zero.

The front that recently moved through our area is now stalled in the Gulf. That, along with what the NHC calls a broad area of low pressure, are producing clouds and showers, but upper-level winds are expected to keep any further development in check over the next five days.

The front is expected to become a surface trough tomorrow and move inland and disspate Saturday.

Rain chances in southeast Louisiana are on the rise heading into the weekend and the start of the coming week.
