The Companion Animal Alliance is waiving adoption fees due to overcrowding at the shelter.
Officials say the shelter is currently over capacity, and there are as many as 20 dogs arriving daily in need of a forever home.
Anyone interested in bringing home a new furry companion for free can come out to the facility on Gourrier Avenue near River Road in Baton Rouge between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m.
The shelter is also looking for anyone interested in becoming a foster.
