With the hot temperatures continues for the start of the week, Baton Rouge is under a heat advisory today from Noon to 7 p.m.
Monday's highs could reach the mid to upper 90s and NBC Local 33 meteorologist Danielle Uliano says it could feel like anywhere between 106 and 111 degrees.
The National Weather Service recommends taking extra precautions while working or spending time outside during the day, and if possible, waiting until the evening for any "strenuous activities".
"Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors," the NWS adds.
