Laine Hardy Wins American Idol

Laine Hardy, known as the Bayou Boy of Louisiana, is the winner of Season 17 of the reality singing competition American Idol.

Hardy was voted the winner in the season finale last night after singing renditions of the songs "Home" by fellow Louisianan Marc Broussard and Hank Williams' "Jambalaya On The Bayou".

The 18-year old Hardy was raised in Livingston and quickly became a fan favorite on the show with many comparisons to Elvis Presley.
