Baton Rouge police have a man in custody who they say abused a medical employee yesterday afternoon.

Deputies say they were called out yesterday around 12:15 p.m. after a patient, identified as Nicholas Guaraggi, allegedly hit an employee in the face. The victim is said to be suffering from whiplash and was being monitored for signs of a concussion.

Guaraggi told officers he hit the employee because he wanted to escape, and said he had threatened to hit her again. He's being charged with battery of emergency room personnel.
