A bill that would create an additional lane in each direction on the I-12 is one step closer to approval. SB 84 passed through the House Transportation Committee without opposition yesterday.
Now, it faces a full House vote.
The lanes would be placed between the I-10/12 split and Walker to ease congestion. But, only vehicles with two or more occupants will be able to use the lanes.
Representative C. Denise Marcelle of Baton Rouge says the plan that would cost about $750,000 for signs, stripes and other work is "awesome."
