The coroner's office in Baton Rouge says a missing LSU student and a woman found with him in an off-campus apartment both died of a drug overdose.

Max Raymond, 19, and Joy Gentil, 21, were found deceased on April 1.

Officials say the pair apparently committed suicide with an overdose of pentobarbital that's used for a variety of medical purposes, including the treatment of anxiety prior to surgical procedures.

High doses of the drug can result in deadly respiratory arrest.
