The father of a one-year-old boy is behind bars for the death of his son.

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's office says 33-year-old Terence Ransom who was arrested yesterday is facing charges that include first-degree murder and domestic abuse battery.

The coroner ruled that the child, Josiah Crockett, died Saturday of multiple blunt force injuries to the chest and abdomen.

Officials say an autopsy shows Josiah Crockett died over the weekend as the result of multiple blunt force injuries to the chest and abdomen.

Ransom's live-in girlfriend told police she found him standing over the infant and yelling profanities at the child.

The little boy's biological mother has been in jail since 2017 on a second-degree murder charge.
