Man Sought On Baton Rouge Warrant Killed By Deputies In Mississippi

A man sought on a high-risk felony warrant out of Baton Rouge is dead after being shot by deputies in Hancock County, Mississippi yesterday afternoon.

He's identified as 29-year-old Lawrence Bottoms who was convicted in 2017 of stabbing a teen in the face with a screwdriver and was wanted for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

Bottoms took off on foot after jumping from the second floor of a residential unit and was allegedly shot when he aimed a handgun at pursuing deputies as he emerged from a wooded area. He was hit by multiple rounds of gunfire and died at the scene.
