WBR Deputy Fired, License Suspended At Time Of Fatal Crash

A 20-year-old West Baton Rouge Parish sheriff's deputy is out of a job after being fired for having a suspended driver's license at the time of a deadly accident.

The crash happened last Friday when a work release van being driven by on-duty Deputy Alberto Casco struck and killed a pedestrian on LA 1 early that morning. The victim was identified as 37-year-old Clinell Robertson, of Plaquemine.

No other charges have been announced in the accident that's being investigated by Louisiana State Police.
