(New Orleans, LA) -- New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is taking up a Mardi Gras tradition started by former Mayor Marc Morial and continued by Mitch Landrieu. Cantrell will lead the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club's parade on horseback alongside Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlon Gunsman. According to Cantrell, she extended the invitation to Gunsman as he let her ride a horse in the parade every year when she was a New Orleans City Council member. Zulu starts at 8 a.m. on Fat Tuesday, when it will be joined by Rex.
