(Baton Rouge, LA) -- Baton Rouge Police Officer Yuseff Hamadeh is resigning after successfully fighting his termination on a technicality amid a controversial arrest. Hamadeh claimed the person he was chasing shot at him during a traffic stop in August, causing him to return shots. There were discrepancies with his story, leading him to be fired, but the Municipal Fire and Police Service Board overturned the termination on claims proper protocols were not fired during a lie detector test. Hamadeh has confirmed today despite winning the ruling, he will not return to the force, but he will still be entitled to back pay from the time he was suspended until he submitted his resignation.
