Port Allen police are investigating a shooting that killed a 19-year-old Tuesday afternoon.
The gunfire occurred around 3:30 p.m. in the 900-block of Avenue A near LA 1.
WVLA NBC Local 33 reports the victim was identified as Dedrick Jackson.
One person was detained at the scene, but investigators offered no immediate information on the circumstances involving the gun violence.
