The future of ExxonMobil in Baton Rouge appears to be a bit uncertain after the company announced Tuesday it would drop a pending request for property tax breaks.
Those would have helped the energy giant offset the costs of expanding its plants locally. The request for exemptions was to go before the Metro Council later today.
The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board recently voted down the exemptions that would have cost the district nearly $3 million in revenue over a ten-year period.
