Driver Of SUV That Struck, Killed Councilman To Be Sentenced

The driver of the SUV that struck and killed East Baton Rouge Metro Councilman Buddy Amoroso will be sentenced later this week.

A West Feliciana Parish grand jury opted not to indict 21-year-old Nicholas Alexander for negligent homicide but rather with reckless operation. He's pleaded guilty to the charge and will be sentenced this Thursday.

Amoroso was killed when his bicycle was hit by Alexander's SUV June 30th in St. Francisville.
