Livingston Parish Economic Growth On The Rise

Livingston Parish is in the midst of double-digit growth and there are no signs of it slowing down any time soon.

A preliminary report from the parish's economic council shows construction permits for commercial property have almost doubled since 2017. The report also shows last year permits were issued to build 100 new homes per month, which is a 23% increase.

Economists say location is a key factor, but Parish President Layton Ricks believes its the quality of life.

Next month, the full economic projection for the parish will be released.
