A computer malfunction is being blamed for what turned out to be quite a deal on regular gasoline at a station in Baton Rouge.
It seems the price for a gallon of the fuel plummeted last night to just under two cents, meaning a fill up cost about 30 cents. It happened at a Circle K on Highland Road, with premium selling for two-and-a-half-cents a gallon.
Workers immediately shut down the pumps after learning of the error.
The statewide average for a gallon of regular Wednesday morning was just under $2.10. According to GasBuddy, many stations in Baton Rouge have regular for well under $2 a gallon.
