(WBRZ News 2) Police are expected to release new information later Wednesday after two people were found dead at a warehouse facility that shares an address of a business called National Pool Builders.
Police were sketchy about information earlier in the morning and issued a single statement, announcing the department’s plans for a news conference hours after the discovery, which has labeled a double homicide.
“The Denham Springs Police Department will be holding a press conference in reference to a double homicide which occurred in Denham Springs. The meeting will be held [Wednesday afternoon],” a spokesperson said in the brief announcement.
Police provided no other information.
The two people were found dead in the 27000 block of Pete’s Highway at the warehouse address sandwiched on the west side of the highway between Doug Wax Lane and Tate Road. Infamous, yellow crime scene tape roped off the entire property.
Other than confirming two people were dead at the address, police have not released specifics. It’s assumed that will come at 1 o'clock, during the news conference. Watch it live on WBRZ+, the local cable news channel or streaming live HERE.
National Pool Builders was founded in 1982, according to business filings with state business regulators. The business appears to be owned by a husband and wife.
State regulators reported the couple’s home address was different from the business address.
The business did not appear to have any issues and was listed as “in good standing,” meaning it had filed annual reports and appeared to be in operation.
Police have not reported the names of the deceased.
