A Baton Rouge cop is out of a job after a police internal investigation determined that he lied about shooting at a motorist who fled the scene of a traffic stop.
Officer Yuseff Hamadeh was fired Thursday. He had claimed that 21-year-old Raheem Howard shot at him during a foot chase but no evidence was found to substantiate the officer's story of why he fired a shot at Howard, missing him.
A police spokesman says a criminal probe of the incident on August 7th has been turned over to the district attorney.
