ExxonMobil is another step closer to a multi-million-dollar property tax break on a planned expansion of its Baton Rouge facilities.
The Metro Council gave the okay last night, agreeing to a ten-year tax abatement that would take effect in 2021 and end in 2031.
The energy company is planning to invest upwards of $1 billion on a proposed polylefins plant expansion that will create 45 new jobs, and employ upwards of 600 construction workers to build the facility.
