Louisiana's capital city is expected to experience a new "growth spurt" during the next two years.

That prediction is included in the just released Louisiana Economic Outlook report unveiled Tuesday by economist Loren Scott, who says the capital region is expected to gain a total of more than 14,000 jobs next year and in 2020.

Scott says the state has already recovered from a 28-month recession and is expected to add nearly 60,000 jobs by the end of 2020 depending on the future of oil prices and the trade war with China.
