Tropical Disturbance Should Move Into Gulf Later This Week

The National Hurricane Center continues to watch an area of showers and storms off the Yucatan Peninsula that's expected to enter the Gulf of Mexico in the coming days.

"Although this activity is showing signs of organization, there are no signs of a surface circulation," read the Tuesday morning tropical weather outlook from the NHC. "Limited development is anticipated today, but upper-level winds are forecast to become more conducive, and a tropical depression could form on Thursday or Friday while the disturbance moves across the western Gulf of Mexico."

Those along the coasts of northeast Mexico, Texas and Louisiana are urged to keep an eye on the system.
