East Baton Rouge Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome made a partial activation of the city-parish's emergency operation center Tuesday night.
The release from the Mayor's office said city-parish offices are scheduled to be open Wednesday, and garbage and recycling will be collected.
“While it appears our community will not be in the direct path of this storm system, we still want our citizens to remain vigilant,” said Mayor Broome. “Our first priority is always public safety. We encourage citizens to monitor the local news to stay aware of any high-water areas or trees that may fall into the roadway. Let’s all do our part to keep our community “Red Stick Ready” as we prepare for Tropical Storm Gordon.”
