7 p.m. Tuesday: Gordon Holds At 70 Before Landfall

Gordon remained a tropical storm Tuesday night as it approached a second U.S. landfall.

With maximum winds of 70 miles per hour, Gordon continued to take aim at the Mississippi/Alabama Gulf Coast with a landfall expected just west of Alabama.

While most of southeast Louisiana is no longer in the cone of uncertainty, a tropical storm warning remains in effect, along with watches and warnings for storm surge and flash flooding.

With fears Gordon could cause damage overnight as it passes to the northeast, some school districts decided to cancel classes on Wednesday out of an abundance of caution.
