10pm Sunday: Storm Surge Watch Added From PTC 7

In addition to the tropical storm watch in effect for southeast Louisiana due to Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven, the National Hurricane Center added a storm surge watch from the Mississippi-Alabama border westward to the mouth of the Mississippi River.

A potential storm surge from the system could be anywhere from 1 to 4 feet.

Forecasters still expect the system will develop into a tropical storm by Monday night. The next name on the list is Gordon.

Heavy rains and tropical storm conditions are possible by Tuesday night into Wednesday.

Parishes in southeast Louisiana are already preparing to begin sandbag distribution.
