Tropical Wave Headed Towards Gulf Could Be Rainmaker

The week following the Labor Day holiday could be a wet one thanks to a tropical wave expected to move towards the Gulf over the next few days.

As of Thursday afternoon, the National Hurricane Center says there is a low chance of further development over a five-day period.

"Regardless of development, this system could produce enhanced rainfall across portions of Hispaniola, the Bahamas, the Turks and Caicos, and Florida into early next week," read the tropical weather outlook.

Off the coast of Africa, a potential tropical cyclone is close to becoming Florence. Forecasters expect the system will be at tropical storm strength by Friday afternoon.
