Two Charged After Deadly Weekend BR Police Chase, Crash

Baton Rouge police say two people are facing charges related to an armed carjacking early Saturday morning and a police chase that had a deadly conclusion.

Authorities say the driver of the jacked vehicle, 20-year-old Nicholas Paul, was arrested for multiple felonies, including negligent homicide in the death of 17-year-old Jerrold Sherbin. He was one of three people in the stolen car when it crashed into a police patrol car, killing him.

Charged with armed robbery is 28-year-old Shabastin Paul.
